Strategy

We recognize that we have a responsibility to the communities where we operate, and that through our resources and employee talent, we can make a positive impact. Employee volunteerism, cash donations, gift matching, in-kind contributions and youth mentoring are but a few of the ways we help to make our communities stronger. Whether it’s beautifying schools or broadening the career horizons of young people, we are finding new ways to impact hundreds of communities on two continents.

Volunteerism is an especially important part of DIRECTV’s culture. Across the Americas, our employees dedicate their time and talents to give back to their communities in meaningful ways. We recognize the value of volunteerism in building teams and helping people to develop strong relationships with their colleagues and communities.

United States

Making a difference in the community takes as many forms as there are needs. Our support includes employee volunteer service, in-kind donations, grants, matching gifts, donated airtime, veterans outreach, school programs, fundraising, mentoring and even rides in the DIRECTV blimp. We believe that doing good in the communities we serve makes them stronger, which in turn strengthens the marketplace where we do business.

We believe skills-based volunteerism offers a promising opportunity to deliver more value to the community while developing and leveraging the skills, talent and experience of our employees.

We Give

Through DIRECTV’s employee giving portal, We Give, our employees participate in programs including the DIRECTV Gift Matching program, the DIRECTV System Donation Program for nonprofit fundraising events and Volunteer Rewards.

LATIN AMERICA

Generación DIRECTV

Generación DIRECTV is our comprehensive corporate social responsibility program in Latin America that supports education, disaster relief, the environment and community outreach. Our programs use technology, services, branding and our people to enact change in underserved communities.

Piedra Papel Tijera

Piedra Papel Tijera is focused on renovating and beautifying schools and community organizations. A TV show that reaches one million viewers features these volunteer projects in order to broaden awareness of needs.

The Forum

The Forum serves as an outlet to educate viewers about the mission, accomplishments and needs of nonprofits throughout the region. DIRECTV Latin America also produces original programming as part of its commitment to positively influence awareness of social and environmental needs.
